The alternative way to buy and sell villas

Buying in Spain advice

With Spain hitting the national news headlines for all the wrong reasons with regard to the illegal builds and property scams, what can you do to try and avoid getting caught out yourself.

First question to ask yourself.

Is an estate agent out to help you or make money to live. Selling a house is their priority, keeping you happy once they have your money, comes after

Finding a solicitor

Many estate agents and builders will include the use of a solicitor or even advise a local solicitor for you to use.

Seek out your own solicitor and do not risk taking the chance of being given the wrong advice. Something that is rumoured is it is better to get a solicitor based in your own country, rather than one in Spain.

This has two benefits

The first being that hopefully there will be no language problems dealing with them

The second being that they are less likely to be concerned about upsetting any local solicitors, so you wont be getting a conflict of interest

There are thousands of people been caught out by the illegal housing fiasco in Spain. Please do you best not to join the ever increasing number
